Please provide a quick intro about yourself and your writing.
Hi, I’m Emily Albright and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my family and our assorted pets. I write contemporary YA books. My debut novel, THE HEIR AND THE SPARE, released this past January. It’s the story of American Evie Gray as she discovers who her mother really was. Of course, along the way she meets and falls for a handsome prince. Its sequel, EVERYDAY MAGIC, which follow’s Preston’s story, is releasing this November.

1) Why should people read your book?

If you like sweet, entertaining escapes, then my books are probably right up your alley. I love a good HEA and doubt I’ll ever write a book without one. A little fluff, a touch of the good kind of cheesiness, and lots of love, that what you’ll find in my books.

2) Where is your favorite place to write?

I’ve got two places I usually write, my bed and our couch. I typically have at least one animal keeping my company, which makes it better.

3) What are you currently working on (new book, remodeling your home…)?

I’m currently working on a YA book that takes place at a summer music camp.

4) What is your favorite comfort book (the book you re-read because of how it makes you think/feel)?

The book I’ve re-read the most, just because I love it, would have to be Mrs. Mike. I read it in middle school for the first time and have read it several times since. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Just thinking about it now makes me want to pull it out again.

5) What is the next book in your TBR (to be read) pile?

My TBR is so insanely long! I never seem to have enough time. Next, I’m wanting to start After You by Jojo Moyes. I recently finished Me Before You and loved it.

6) Turn on your music player and hit shuffle – what song/artist comes up first?

Love You ‘Till the End – The Pogues

7) What’s your random talent (balancing a spoon on your nose, saying the alphabet backwards…)?

Um, I can pinch my nose closed without using my fingers (or toes ?). Does that count? lol

8) Ask the reviewer – what question have you always wanted to ask a book reviewer?

What book or series have you always wanted to see get made into a movie or TV series? Laura – Oh, so very many. I would love to see Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunters series as a premium cable show (like True Blood or Outlander), Graeme Simsion’s debut novel, The Rosie Project has been optioned but the movie needs to be made, and I think The Passenger by Lisa Lutz would be a spectacular movie.

I think this weeks authors is really relatable. We all forget that authors are humans hehehe, okay I forget sometimes hehehe, I think that it’s cool that she’s writing a YA book, that’s what I mostly read, and I also like this book, I like the whole royalty thing ?who doesn’t like reading about Princess’s and Prince’s?

This is the time of year when I love to read something just sweet and romantic, and I like that the author mentioned that there is such a thing as the “good kind of cheesiness” I totally agree with that, so even though I haven’t been that interested in royal stories in the past, this one has me interested.
