Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015. I read some truly great books this year from authors I previously was unaware of, so it was hard to narrow it down. After much debate in no particular order here are my top ten new-to-me authors of 2015.
Jandy Nelson author of I’ll Give You the Sun and The Sky is Everywhere. I loved I’ll Give You the Sun so very very much and I’m glad I read it first. The Sky is Everywhere was okay, but if you have to read one make it I’ll Give You the Sun.
Jennifer Niven author of All the Bright Places. Holy crap sticks was this an amazing and heartbreaking read.
E. Lockhart author of We Were Liars. I was not at all expecting the ending of this book, in such a good way.
Lene Fogelberg author of Beautiful Affliction. It is rare to find a memoir that reads so much like a novel. Superbly well done.
Amita Trasi author of The Color of Our Sky. Seriously the best book I have ever read about such a horrible topic.
Tamara Ireland Stone author of Every Last Word. I love this book even though it made me ugly cry.
Nicola Yoon author of Everything, Everything. Even though I kindof guessed the ending, it did not detract from the awesomeness of the story.
Becky Albertalli author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Oh the feels I have for this one. Practically perfect in every way.
James Bailey author of Sorry I wasn’t What You Needed, The Greatest Show on Dirt and Nine Bucks A Pound. I have only read Sorry, but what a great read it was. They put the fun in dysfunctional.
Rachel Hollis author of Party Girl, Sweet Girl and the upcoming Smart Girl. I have such a girl crush on Hollis. Her books are smart, sassy and snarky enough to make them stand out from the other rom-com offerings I have read lately.
So that is my list of Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015. What are your top picks?

I’ve noticed Jennifer Niven made quite a few lists this week, including mine. She broke a lot of hearts with that one!! And I’m glad you liked We Were Liars. I think I read an ARC of it last year. I remember crying, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t actually like it all that much. Great list. I hope you come across many more winderful authors in 2016!
