Welcome to my weekly wrap-up! Here is where you can see my books read during the past week, books I have added to my shelves, any bookish happenings and the like. I have linked to Stacking the Shelves, the Saturday Situation, the Saturday Review of Books, Talk of the Town, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged, The Sunday Salon, the Sunday Showcase, Caffeinated Book Reviewer’s Sunday Wrap-Up and Mailbox Monday. So check out what I’ve been up to this past week.
Books Added This Week
What She Left by T.R. Richmond. A new psychological thriller for me, yay! – In this brilliantly modern novel of love, obsession, and revenge, a professor pieces together the life and mysterious death of a former student—and unearths a shocking revelation about her final days.
Eleven Hours by Pamela Erens. As a mom I find the concept of this book intriguing. – Eleven Hours is the story of two soon-to-be mothers who, in the midst of a difficult labor, are forced to reckon with their pasts and re-create their futures. Lore must disentangle herself from a love triangle; Franckline must move beyond past traumas to accept the life that’s waiting for her. Pamela Erens moves seamlessly between their begrudging friendship and the memories evoked by so intense an experience. At turns urgent and lyrical, Erens’s novel is a visceral portrait of childbirth, and a vivid rendering of the way we approach motherhood—with fear and joy, anguish and awe.
The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Trisha over at Yellow, Green, and Read All Over recommended this series and I have gone all in. Teenage aliens, the ladies who love them and the shadowy government agency tracking them. Like Roswell in book form and not set in New Mexico

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Restaurant Critic’s Wife by Elizabeth LaBan
This was a slow bookish week for me. Between emergency rooms (my 85-year-old MIL tripped and broke her foot and my 10-year-old daughter pushed her earring backs into her holes and we had to get them removed), my super fun pink eye, Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping (all on-line, no stores for me till after the new year if I can avoid it) my reading time was cut short as well as my internet time. Thank goodness I schedule and pre-write (other than this one) all of my posts at least two weeks out. This is a busy time of year for me between work, family stuff and the Holidays so my reading and internet time gets compromised. But as long as I get some time in I’ll be good.
